Corporate social responsibility is a matter of course for modern companies and a fundament of Axel Johnson International’s business. We work with ethics and sustainability from three perspectives: economically, socially and environmentally.
On the environmental side, we have four focus areas where we work hard with reducing our impact on the environment: transport (persons and goods), energy consumption, energy efficient solutions and products, and recycling.
Our policy
Axel Johnson International will:
- have clear and measurable objectives and strategies for its work on sustainable business, leading to continuous improvement
- continuously evaluate the companies’ work on sustainable business
- in doing business consider the risks and opportunities from a prudent safety perspective
- use natural resources as efficiently as possible and work to reduce negative operational impact on the climate
- have strong interactions with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders on these issues
- in all activities at least comply with applicable laws and regulations, and work towards a positive development concerning the environment, human rights and labour law issues
- educate, inform and motivate employees to participation and responsibility, and thus make a sustainable business to an integral part of the daily operations
Our strategy
- We will work proactively and on a long term basis with clear objectives, driven by business value.
- The Group’s companies need a sound strategy for environmental improvements with measurable targets. The strategy is to be based on a thorough risk analysis.
- Environmental improvements should be a topic on all Board meetings in Q3 each year, and an integrated part in the activities of the business plans.
- All business areas should have a person responsible for environmental issues in the management team or reporting directly to the CEO.
- We will communicate the environmental efforts made by the companies internally and externally.
