World-class quality assurance with magnetic wire rope testing

Certex has launched a new technique for detecting fractures in steel wire rope applications. This “non-destructive test” technique was developed for mining and ski-lift applications, but is now also used for inspections on stay ropes.

By magnetising and scanning the complete wire rope, Certex is able to detect any broken wire, wear or corrosion in order to assure the quality of the complete wire rope. Since this kind of equipment have a limited life span, signs of deterioration typically appear after a certain time, causing operations to become increasingly dangerous if the signs remain undetected. With this technique, we can provide increased service reliability for all our customers using steel wire rope applications.
