Year-end report 2012 - Going from strength to strength

Looking back over the past year, there are very many aspects of the Group’s performance in 2012 that give cause for satisfaction. Sales growth for the Group was up 9 percent at SEK 6.177 billion and return on capital employed was 15 percent, in line with long term targets. Cash flow within the Group was very healthy, at SEK 361 million.

Axel Johnson International has through its business group AxLoad acquired a majority stake in Dutch Mennens Group from De Hoge Dennen Capital, a Dutch privately held investment company. Mennens is the leading provider of steel wire rope, cranes, lifting products and related services in the Benelux region. As a result of the acquisition AxLoad is the largest European supplier in the lifting and lashing market.

Outokumpu extends collaboration with AxIndustries

AxIndustries and its subsidiary Nomo Kullager have signed a new comprehensive distribution and service agreement with the Outokumpu Group, covering the delivery and servicing of roller bearings.

The agreement runs for three years, with an option to extend by a further two, starting in January 2011. During the agreement period, the parties will be endeavouring to develop their collaboration still further, increasing production efficiency and reducing costs.

Elektro Dynamo, which specialises in sales and service of industrial components, is seizing the opportunity to further consolidate its market position in the electro-mechanical sector. On 1 December, it acquired Eltjänst Elektromekaniska i Lidköping.

AxFlow expands its diaphragm pump portfolio in Sweden

AxFlow AB announce an addition to their diaphragm pump portfolio effective November 1, 2010 with Marathon and Dellmeco air operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps, and Pumper Parts.

Marathon, the high quality AODD pump range with externally serviceable air distribution system. The pump is equipped with ball valves, or optionally flap valves for liquids with larger solid content. Production is carried out in the U.S. by Warren Rupp, that also manufactures Sandpiper.

Dellmeco, a compact air-driven diaphragm pump that can be easily installed in confined spaces. The number of components is less than in other similar pumps, which means lower maintenance costs.

Pumper Parts are high quality spare parts manufactured by Warren Rupp. They are suitable for Wilden, Yamada and ARO diaphragm pumps.

Based in Oulu, and with an annual turnover of 2 million EUROs, Tasanto is a distributor of rolling bearings and seals. Customers include the heavy industries, such as steel, saw mill and pulp and paper, in northern Finland.
